Detrick Labranch Arrested in Shooting Investigation

 St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Detrick Labranch, 23, of LaPlace in connection with the shooting incident that occurred Wednesday, April 6, on East 17th Street in Reserve.

On Wednesday, April 6, at 7:21 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the 100 block of East 17th Street in Reserve for the report of man that was shot. Deputies identified the victim as a 31-year-old who lives on East 17th Street. Emergency medical services treated the victim and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. No one else was injured.

Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified Detrick Labranch as a suspect and obtained a judicial court ordered arrest warrant for attempted second-degree murder. Detectives arrested Labranch Monday when he turned himself in to detectives at the Criminal Investigations Division with his attorney present. No bond has been set. He was arrested seven times in St. John the Baptist Parish since February 2010.
